Women of Color Leading Change

Leticia Haynes, Vice President for Institutional Diversity and Equity, presented at the YWCA’s Capitol Hill briefing, Women of Color Leading Change: Policies that Break Down Barriers and Open Opportunities.   The briefing featured women of color leaders from the corporate/business, education, nonprofit, and public service sectors.  Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman who delivered opening remarks along with Sen. Mazie Hirono and Rep. Linda Sanchez were co-sponsors.  The April 27 briefing was part of the YWCA’s Stand Against Racism, a national campaign which encourages community leaders and activists to plan events around the country to build community among those who work for racial justice and to raise awareness about the negative impact of institutional and structural racism in our communities.
