Policies

Williams aspires to be a place where all feel welcome, respected, and included.

The college prohibits discrimination against any person on the basis of race, sex, ethnicity or national origin, religion, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or veteran status. These factors may not hinder employment or study, nor be permitted to have an adverse influence on decisions regarding students or employees.

The college has several policies that further inclusion and equity on campus, including the Nondiscrimination, Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct Policy and Grievance Procedures, Title IX Policy and Procedures, Student Code of Conduct, and Staff Grievance Procedures. Collectively, they aim to eliminate discrimination, bias, harassment, and sexual misconduct. Conflict resolution and investigation of concerns and complaints of nondiscrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct is a multi-step process led by the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity (in instances in which only students are involved, the office of the Dean of the College typically coordinates and leads the investigation process).

Our processes often rely on the collaboration and support of other offices on campus, including the offices of the Dean of the Faculty, the Dean of the College, and Human Resources, each of whose leader serves as deputy nondiscrimination and Title IX coordinator.

Those with concerns may reach out to the following individuals:
