DC Community Lunches
DC Community Lunches happen at The Davis Center throughout the Fall and Spring Semester. These informal events are opportunities to connect with each other, learn from a diverse group of guests, and to nourish the spirit, mind, and body over lunch!
- Tuesday, November 5, 12-2 PM: Zine-making with the Sawyer Library Zine Collection. Come make a zine together!
- Tuesday, October 22, 12:00-1:30 PM : Community lunch with Kif-Kif Bledi, a woman-led dance company, social and cultural space, and cultural agency based in Paris, France, who is devoted to to the the valorization of North African cultures through both traditional and fusion dance that incorporates hip hop, waacking, voguing and house.
- Thursday, October 10, 12:00-1:30 PM: We invite anyone affected by events happening across the world--from catastrophic storms to armed conflict and violence--to join members of the Davis Center and OIDEI team, as we hold space over lunch.
- Tuesday, October 8, 12:00-2 PM, Zine-making with the Sawyer Library Zine Collection and FULL (Facilitating Understanding through Listening and Learning, athletics)!
- Friday, September 27, 12:00-1:00 PM, "Transforming the Ivory Tower' with special guest Dr. Mary Danico and other guests tba.
- Tuesday, September 17, 2024. 12:00-1:30 PM, Learn about the work of the The Davis Center's Gordon J. Davis '63 Social and Racial Justice Fellows, the Racial Justice Opportunity Grant winners, the Michael A Dively Summer Opportunity Grant Winners, and the Projects for Peace.
Accessibility and Location: The Davis Center, which is accessible from the Spring Street side via an elevator off of Bank Street. The main entrance to the Davis Center is opposite The Hopkins Science Center. The Davis Center has ADA accessible all-gender restrooms on each floor, and it is serviced by an elevator.
