In honor of Trans Day of Remembrance/Resilience, The Davis Center will be holding space in the seminar room at Bascom House on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 3 to 5 PM.
Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance on November 20 that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence, as we also celebrate those fighting for liberation & equity for the trans, nonbinary, & gender-nonconforming community.
We’ll have some coloring pages; kids books; some information about the trans people lost to transphobia so far this year; a table where community members can leave small offerings, remembrances, and reflections if desired; battery-powered votives; and light refreshments.
This is a drop-in event, please come and stay for as short or as long a time as you wish.
While this event is open to all members of the Williams community, this will be a trans-centered space. We ask that allies who wish to attend should come to the event with consideration and respect.
