Social Change Film Series: Manzanar, Diverted April 25

Join the Davis Center and Images Cinema for a screening of Manzanar, Diverted: When Water Becomes Dust on Thursday, April 25 at 7 PM. Admission is free

From the majestic peaks of the snow-capped Sierras to the parched valley of Payahuunadü, “the land of flowing water,” MANZANAR, DIVERTED: WHEN WATER BECOMES DUST poetically weaves together memories of intergenerational women. Native Americans, Japanese-American WWII incarcerees and environmentalists form an unexpected alliance to defend their land and water from Los Angeles.

A talkback with Director/Producer Ann Kaneko, moderated by Aly Corey (Associate Director of the Davis Center), will follow the film.

This screening is part of the Earth Week Film Festival and The Davis Center Social Change Film Series.

The film is preceded by a closing reception for the Earth Week Film Festival from 6 to 7 PM at Images.
