Alliance for a Viable Future Presents – Honoring Native America, a one-of-a-kind historic event, during Indigenous Peoples’ Day Weekend.

For the first time ever, Alliance for a Viable Future is welcoming Shawn Stevens and fifteen members of the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans, the original people of the Berkshires, including the GiiTaa’se Singers Traditional Family Drum Group.

Powerful performances by Carlos Nakai (Virtually) and Joan Henry (Live). Larry Spotted Crow Mann will be presented with the first ever NAACP Indigenous Award by Dennis Powell; keynotes will be given by Grandmother Margaret Behan from the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers, and Rhonda Anderson, Western Massachusetts Commissioner on Indian Affairs; and the Alliance will introduce and honor the members of the first annual Northeast Council for Indigenous Peoples’ Day, representing fifteen Native American Tribal Nations.
