Carmen is Professor of History and Chair of the Latina/o Studies Program. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Office of Strategic Planning and Institutional Diversity is pleased to announce that Carmen Whalen has accepted the position of Associate Dean for Institutional Diversity for the next two years.</p>
<p>Carmen is Professor of History and Chair of the Latina/o Studies Program. Her appointment to the Office will be as a .75 FTE and the remainder of her time will be devoted to her teaching. Carmen replaces Wendy Raymond, who has served as the Associate Dean for the past three years.  The Office looks forward to this new affiliation, which will begin July 1, 2010.  Please join us in welcoming her to the position.</p>
